Set up a question on a form

Last updated October 13, 2026

Select any question on a form in the builder and its settings open in the side panel. This article covers what each setting does. Anyone who can edit forms can change them.

Steps

  1. Sign in at https://vyro.co/access.
  2. Open All services in the sidebar, choose Forms under Market, then open the form.
  3. Select the question on the form. Its settings open in the side panel, grouped into sections.
  4. Change what you need, then select Save changes.

Input settings

  • Label is the question customers see. Help text sits under it as a hint.
  • Name is the question's key. It's used for pre-filling a form from a link and by integrations, and must be unique on the form.
  • Type is the kind of answer: short or long text, email, phone, number, date, date and time, dropdown, radio, checkbox, location, address, make or hidden. A hidden field isn't shown to customers. See Track a campaign or dealer code with a hidden field.
  • Minimum width sets how much of a row the question takes on a wide screen: Full, Half, Third or Quarter. On a phone every question takes the full width.
  • Required means the form can't be sent without an answer.
  • Character Limit, on a long-text question, caps how long an answer can be.

Date rules

On a date question, Dates allowed limits what customers can pick: Any date, Past only (such as a date of birth) or Future only (such as a test drive date).

Dealership filters

On a location question, Location filters narrows the dealerships customers can choose from:

  • Filter by tags shows only dealerships that carry any of the tags you choose.
  • Filter by make shows only dealerships that sell the make picked in another question on the form. The form needs a make question for this. If it has none, the panel says so.

Linking

  • Customer record saves the answer to a field on the customer in Vyro. See Save form answers to your own customer fields.
  • Browser auto-complete tells the customer's browser what the question asks for, such as Given Name (First name), Email or Birthday Day, so it can offer to fill it in. Choose None to turn it off.
  • Default value fills the question in before the customer answers. A value in the form's link replaces it.

Options

On a dropdown, radio or checkbox question, Options lists the choices, each with a Label customers see and a Value that's stored. Drag to reorder them, and use + Option to add one.

  • Metadata adds key and value pairs to an option, such as a stock number or a campaign code. Customers never see them. Integrations and other apps can read them. Select Metadata on the option, then + Metadata.
  • Shown conditionally shows the option only when other answers match. See Show a question only when it's needed.

Once a form has submissions

  • A question's type can't change. Past answers were collected in the old format, so the Type setting is locked and says why.
  • Removing a question asks first. If the form has submissions, or another question's conditions depend on it, the builder asks Remove this field? before it goes. Choose Keep it to cancel. Answers already given to it stay in past submissions, but no longer have a question to sit under.
