Track a campaign or dealer code with a hidden field

Last updated October 13, 2026

A hidden field is sent with every submission but never shown to the customer. Use one to record where a submission came from, such as a campaign, a dealer code or a brand, so you can see it on the submission or save it on the customer. Anyone who can edit forms can add one.

Steps

  1. Sign in at https://vyro.co/access.
  2. Open All services in the sidebar, choose Forms under Market, then open the form.
  3. In the field library under the form, pick Hidden. It doesn't appear on the form itself. It's listed in the Hidden fields list under the form, which reads submitted with the form, never rendered.
  4. Select the field in that list to open it in the side panel.
  5. Under Input settings, set its Name, such as campaign or dealercode. This is how the value is labelled on submissions, and how a link can fill it in.
  6. Under Linking, set a Default value: the value it sends when nothing else fills it in.
  7. To save the value on the customer as well, select Choose under Customer record in the same section and pick a customer field. Until you do, the field is marked not mapped in the list, and the value stays only on the submission.
  8. Select Save changes.

Result

Every submission carries the field's value. You can see it on the form's Submissions tab and, if you linked it, on the customer in Vyro.

Use a different value per link

A value in the link to the form replaces the default value. If one form sits behind several campaigns, give each campaign its own link, such as ?campaign=spring-sale, and each submission records which link it came through. See Pre-filling forms with URL parameters.

Removing a hidden field

Select the bin icon on its row in the Hidden fields list. If the form already has submissions, or another field depends on this one, the builder asks Remove this field? first. Values already submitted stay in past submissions, but no longer have a field to sit under.
