Change the price of a configurator option
Every choice a customer makes in your configurator (a model grade, paint colour, wheel, interior or pack) is an option, and each option has its own price. You can change these prices yourself from the dashboard. When you save, the new prices are published to your live configurator straight away.
Who can do this
You need one of these roles on the showroom: Owner, Manager or Support. Users with the Reporting role can open a configurator and see its prices, but can't change them.
Before you start
- Saving publishes immediately. There is no separate draft or approval step. As soon as you click Save Changes, customers see the new prices on your website. If a price change should only go live on a certain date, make the change on that date.
- Each market is its own configurator. If you sell the same model in more than
one region or language, you'll see one configurator per locale in the list (the
locale is shown at the end of its name, for example
| en-AU). A price change in one doesn't carry over to the others, so update each one. - An option has one price wherever it appears. Prices belong to the option's product code. If the same product code is used in more than one place in a configurator, changing its price changes it everywhere it appears.
- Every save is kept. Each save is listed as a numbered version on the configurator's History tab, so you can go back to an earlier version if you need to. See Go back to an earlier version below.
Steps
- Sign in at https://vyro.co/access.
- In the sidebar, click Configurators. The list shows your showroom's published configurators.
- Click the configurator you want to change. You can search by make, model or year.
- On the Structure tab, expand the section and field that holds the option, then click the option. For example, open the Colour section, then click the paint colour you want to reprice.
- In the Price box on the right, enter the new price. This is the amount added to the vehicle's price when a customer selects this option. Enter it the same way your other prices are entered (for example, including tax if your other prices include tax).
- Check the Live preview panel. The option's tile updates as you type, so you can see exactly what customers will see.
- Repeat steps 4 to 6 for any other options you want to change. You can change as many prices as you like before saving.
- Click Save Changes at the top right.
Tip: if you're only changing prices, the Labels tab is quicker to work through. It lists every option in one tree, and clicking an option shows its Label, Description and Price together. Both tabs edit the same price, so use whichever you prefer.
Result
You'll see the message Changes saved and published, and the button changes to Configuration Saved. The Version number in the header goes up by one and shows today's date.
To check the live site, click View online at the top right of the configurator. This button only appears when the configurator has a published website address.
If something doesn't look right
- The Price box is greyed out. Either your role can't edit configurators (see Who can do this), or the option uses an advanced pricing rule. When a rule is set, the Advanced button next to the price is highlighted and the plain price isn't used. Open Advanced to edit the rule, or click Clear in that window to go back to a single price. See Set a price that depends on other selections.
- The option shows "Included" instead of a price. A price of
0is shown to customers as Included. - The price on the tile doesn't match the price you entered. The option may have a Displayed price set, which replaces the figure shown on the tile. The vehicle's total still uses the Price. See Control how option prices are shown.
- I saved, but the website still shows the old price. Refresh the page in your browser. If you have the configurator open in another tab, reload it so it picks up the new version.
- I see "A problem occured" when saving. Your changes were not published. Keep the page open, check your connection, and click Save Changes again. If it keeps failing, contact support.
- I need to undo a change. For a single price, change it back and save again. To restore a whole earlier version, see Go back to an earlier version below.
When to contact support
These price changes can't be made from the dashboard. Contact support with the configurator name and the change you need:
- The base price changes for a specific finance type. For example, when the vehicle's price should be different for customers who pay with a particular finance or lease option.
- A discount is applied. For example, a promotional amount taken off the vehicle's price. A Displayed price only changes the figure shown on an option's tile, not the vehicle's total, so it can't be used to apply a discount.
Go back to an earlier version
Every time a configurator is saved, the version is kept on its History tab. You can publish any earlier version again from there.
- Open the configurator and click the History tab. Every published version is listed, newest first, with its version number, date and who published it. The live version is marked (current).
- Click a version to see it in the Live preview panel, and check it's the one you want.
- In that version's row, click Export. In the Export Configurator window, click the copy icon next to Data, then close the window.
- Click the settings menu (the cog icon at the top right of the configurator) and choose Import.
- Paste the data into the box, or click Click here to paste from clipboard.
- Click Accept & Close.
You'll see Successfully imported. The earlier version is published straight away as a new version number, so it's live on your website at once. The versions in between stay in the History tab, so you can switch back again the same way.
Only users who can edit the configurator (Owner, Manager or Support) see Import in the settings menu. If you have unsaved changes, save or discard them before you import.
Tip: click Add description on a version in the History tab to note what changed, for example "Spring promotion prices". It makes the right version easier to find later.
