Recover account access when you can't use your authenticator app

Before You Start

  • You must have access to your account email.
  • You must have at least one unused backup code.

Recovery Steps

  1. On the MFA code screen, select Recover account.
  2. Select Send recovery code.
  3. Check your email for a one-time recovery code.
  4. Enter the recovery code on the recovery page.
  5. Enter one of your backup codes.
  6. Complete sign-in.

After Recovery

  • You will be asked to set up MFA again immediately.
  • Re-enrollment is required before you can continue using the app.
  • Download and safely store your new backup codes.

Important

  • Backup codes are for account recovery only.
  • A backup code can be used once, then it expires.
  • If you used recovery, set up MFA again as soon as prompted.

If You Can't Recover

Situation What to Do
No email access Regain access to your email first
No backup codes left Contact support for account assistance
Recovery code expired Request a new one and try again
