How to Hide the Model Year on Vehicle Listings

Last updated September 30, 2026

You can hide the model year from shoppers for particular vehicles, for example every 2025 model of one car. You set this up as a rule by make, model and year, so it also covers vehicles you import later. Showroom managers and owners can set it up.

Step 1: Open the inventory settings

  1. Sign in at https://vyro.co/access.
  2. In the left-hand menu, click Settings.
  3. Select General Settings, then click Inventory.
  4. Scroll to Hide Model Year.

Step 2: Add a rule

  1. Click Add.
  2. In Vehicle, pick the make and model. The list shows the makes and models in your current stock.
  3. In Years to hide, type the model years, separated by commas, for example 2026, 2025.
  4. Add another rule for each other make and model you want to hide the year on.
  5. Click Save changes at the bottom of the page.

If a year can't be read, for example two years with no comma between them, the field names it and the page won't save until you fix it.

Step 3: Check your website

  1. Wait a couple of minutes. Your website holds settings for a short time, so a new rule isn't always visible straight away.
  2. Open your showroom website.
  3. Find a vehicle that matches your rule.
  4. The model year no longer shows in the vehicle's title on listing cards, on its vehicle page, or in the browser tab title.

What a rule hides, and what it doesn't

The year is hidden from shoppers:

  • on vehicle cards and vehicle pages
  • in the page title and the information search engines read
  • on the compare page and at checkout
  • in the chat assistant, which can't tell a shopper the year
  • in a shopper's account, when they look at your stock

The year is still used, and still visible to your team:

  • It stays on each vehicle's record, and filters, sorting and feeds still use it.
  • It can still appear in the vehicle page's web address.
  • Your dashboard, Sales Hub and the staff assistant still show it.

A rule only hides the year. It doesn't unpublish a vehicle or remove it from search results.

Good to know

  • New vehicles. Vehicle cards already leave out the year for vehicles in New condition. A rule hides it everywhere else as well, including the heading on the vehicle page.
  • Spelling of models. Matching ignores capital letters and accents, so one rule covers a model however it arrived in your stock.
  • Sold-out models. A rule stays active after the model sells out, so it covers the next vehicle you import. In the settings list it shows as "(not in stock)".
  • Vehicle names. If you've typed a custom name on a vehicle, that name is used as-is in a few places, such as the information search engines read and the chat assistant. A year inside a custom name still shows there, so remove it from the name if you don't want it seen.
  • Single vehicles. Rules apply to every matching vehicle. You can't exclude one vehicle from a rule.

Removing a rule

  1. Go to Settings > General Settings > Inventory > Hide Model Year.
  2. Click the bin icon next to the rule.
  3. Click Save changes. The year shows again on matching vehicles.
